Admissions

Orientation Program

The admission process begins by attending an open house and orientation to the Montessori Philosophy of education.  The Orientation Program will help parents gain an appreciation of Maria Montessori’s philosophy of early childhood education, understand the services of Montessori West, tour the campus, and meet some of our parents to learn about their experiences at Montessori West.

Interview

Parents who are seeking admission for their child to attend Montessori West will be interviewed by the Head of School.  The child also will be present during this interview.  Admission will be granted to families who show evidence of their careful study and appreciation of the Montessori Philosophy, intention to actively participate in the educational program and extra-curricular activities of the school, and commitment for the child to finish the three-year program.

"I’m not sure I can put into words how much we are appreciative and grateful for all that you’ve done for Anna and Aaron.  The first year here was a new experience, each week, each season, each event.  Then it became events and seasons that we looked forward to,….The school activities like fieldtrips, friendship weeks,  birthday parties, and holiday celebrations were so much fun for the children and us as parents.  We all learned so much.  The exposure to the Arts and Sciences, not to mention everyday life (The Montessori Method) has given them such a broad horizon as 6 years olds  to move on to the next level of education.

Montessori West will be a tough act to follow.  We have great hopes that the solid foundation they have received here will supply them with what they need to go on and still be curious and compelled to keep learning.

It is with mixed emotions that we move on.  Montessori West has been such a comfortable and safe place for Anna and Aaron.  This has been a truly wonderful experience.”
