The Setting

Montessori West is located in a quiet, private community.  It is a sprawling school on a one-acre campus.  Care has been taken to maintain a home atmosphere to provide the child an easy transition from the family to a learning environment with a small group of children and caring, well-trained adults.  The academic areas flow naturally into the Practical Life setting, into the Outdoor Environment, and the Children's Garden.

Nestled at the foot of a hill, with mountain views and a lush landscape, the school offers the child the opportunity to be close to nature. The activity rooms are designed to facilitate the child’s movement from one area of work to another.

The Community Room is at the center of all learning areas.  The main Activity Center flows into the Practical Life Area, out into the Outdoor Environment, and the Children’s Garden.

The Children’s Garden is a special place where the children sow, plant, and tend their herbs, vegetables, fruit trees, and flowers.  Our playground is also a natural habitat for a variety of birds and other desert animals.

This setting has proven to provide the children many meaningful opportunities to discover and become engaged and happy learners.
"Our experience at Montessori West was nothing less than spectacular. Our daughter, Alyssa, has matured beyond our expectations. Her confidence and love of learning our demonstrated to us on a daily basis. The individual attention of Mrs. Gaabucayan and her staff show all the students is one of the many reasons why we believe the education Alyssa received is second to none. All activities, including field trips and other events at Montessori West are planned wiht the child's development in mind. We consider ourselves lucky to have found this great environment for our daughter and presently, our son, Andre, to begin their learning environment."
